Food Lab Gives Back to its Community

Giving back to our community is one of the values that Food Lab is committed to. Every six months we choose a different non-profit that we will sponsor and give back to throughout different events and avenues, like our Sunday Supper series as well as a one night use of Food Lab for fundraising.

Feel free to contact us to see how you can get involved.

The Chef Ann Foundation

The Chef Ann Foundation is dedicated to promoting whole-ingredient, scratch cooking in schools. Scratch cooking enables schools to serve the healthiest, tastiest meals so that kids are well-nourished and ready to learn.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we work with both public and private schools in all 50 states. Founded in 2009 by Chef Ann Cooper, we’ve helped more than 11,000 schools and 3.2 million kids eat healthier, fresher school meals.

Real Good

In Boulder County, Colorado, the sun shines over 300 days a year. Nature is our church, and the foothills of the Rocky Mountains are our cathedral. We work hard and play harder. Our residents make up one of the most educated populations in the country. And innovation is the lifeblood of our business community.

And then, there’s the FOOD. We take food very seriously, and we do it WELL. We talk about food ad nauseum. We care where our food comes from and what is in it. We LOVE to eat good food. We grow it. We cook it. And we share it with friends. We know our local farmers. Our restaurant owners are local celebrities. The Farm to Table movement has its roots in our backyard. We are often called “The Foodiest Community in America,” and we take great pride in that moniker.

But we have a secret.

Amidst all of this abundance and discussion of food, 1 in 6 residents of Boulder County is food insecure.

Real Good is trying to make a change locally.
