Christian started his professional cooking career in 2011 making slow-cooked Ethiopian dishes with head chef Lula Habte for a food truck in Washington, D.C. In 2012, he moved into fine dining as garde manger for Restaurant Nora, a Dupont Circle institution that was the first certified organic restaurant in the United States. He later worked as a pastry chef at Society Fair, an epicurean food emporium in Alexandria, Virginia. His lifelong love of juggling led him to pursue circus entertainment and education full time in 2016. Being away from professional kitchens allowed him to reconnect with the joy of cooking for family and friends. Christian’s favorite thing to make at home is hand-rolled sourdough bagels.
